Tinsmith Stakes

Premium-quality forming and rasing stakes are designed for blacksmiths, sheet metal workers, coppersmiths, jewelers and autobody workers. These stakes have gorgeous blemish-free polished surfaces; stakes are forged and tempered for excellent performance and longevity. They are carefully engineered to reduce strain-the softer inner body absorbs impact through the hardened surface.

Used for reaching into vessels during production or repair.

Pieh Tool Sinusoidal Stake, Small Wave

Synclastic: "Curved in all directions towards the same point" Anticlastic or Anti-Clastic: "Similar to synclastic but produces a concave curve instead of a convex curve".

Used in the process called anticlastic raising. This is the 8" long (small length) Sinusoidal Stake.

Steel Sinusoidal stakes are commonly used with plastic or nylon hammers like our "Bossing Mallets or Pimentel Raising hammers". For a textbook that covers this work, please see "Form Emphasis" by Heiki Seppa (BK239)".

Our Bick Iron is drop forged and hardened. It is 8" long x 1" wide.

It is classically shaped, with a flat elongated triangle shape on one side with a tapered rounded end on the other.

Pieh Tool Mushroom

Pieh Legacy Collection!

Shank fits 1" hardie holes.

This tool is used for many things such as making vein's on leaves. You would use this tool underneath the leaf to provide a curved working surface while using the veining chisel or ball punch. The piece can be rocked on the mushroom to create curved lines.

The mushroom is beautifully dressed and is 2 3/8 inch diameter by 2 inches high (OAL 3 1/2 inches).

Can be used in an anvil or a fly press. Made from low carbon steel and is soft (not hardened) but can be hardened with Cherry Red. (Item #CHR-1) We left it soft so that the veining chisels or ball punches would not be damaged. Make in USA for the Pieh Legacy Collection of tools.
