Anvil Tools

We offer a variety of tools that will fit in the hardy hole of an anvil or for use in a vise or tooling swage block. These tools can also be used with a fly press if you have a bottom holder such as our hardie bolster plate.

Our tooling comes in shaft sizes to fit 3/4", 7/8", 1" and 1 1/4" hardy holes.

Iron Mountain Forge Cone Mandrel 1" Hardy

A cone (or mandrel) is for hammering bar stock into perfect conical rings or scroll shapes.  It sits in the anvils' hardy hole vertically and has a purpose similar to the horn on an anvil, but more consistent round shapes can be created with the help of this tool.  In years past mandrel's were used to make bindings for wheel hubs and circular objects such as nose rings for oxen.

The turning hardy tool is used by many different craftsmen in many different trades to bend heated steel primarily in the blacksmith trade.

Pieh Tool Victory Forge Butt Tool

Pieh Legacy Collection!

Produce easy beautiful leaves when used together with the Victory Forge Butt Tool.  First forge your leaf, perhaps with our leaf blank swage., then lay and center bottom side of leaf over the Leaf Sink Tool. Use a veining chisel, and make the vein in your leaf by sinking in the crease of the tool.

(It is recommended to hold the Leaf Sinking Tool with a Hold Down by utilizing your round pritchel hole in your anvil.)

Heat the piece back up and turn over. Lay the piece in wood, such as a stump, and use the Butt Tool over the raised crease you just made. Strike the Butt Tool with a hammer sinking the leaf into the wood.

Victory Forge Guillotine Combo Fuller

The Guillotine Combo Fuller fits in your anvils hardy hole. Because of the double fullering you can use this for making chili peppers and making bamboo as well as for fullering leaf stems.

Anvil Devils

An Anvil Devil is a hard triangular piece of heat-treated steel that is used by farriers & blacksmiths for cutting or making V notches. You can place it on any flat surface. (or use in a GE Anvil Devil holder if you can still find one!)

Iron Mountain Bottom Fuller Hardy

Fullers are forming tools of different shapes used in making grooves or hollows. They are often used in pairs, the bottom fuller has a square shank which fits into the hardy hole in the anvil while the top fuller has a handle. The work is placed on the bottom fuller and the top is placed on the work and struck with a hammer. The top fuller is also used for finishing round corners and for stretching or spreading metal. The tool has a .1/2 " radius and is 2 1/2" long. This tool is used by many different craftsman in lots of different trades to lengthen steel primarily in the blacksmith trade. The tool is made of tough 60/45/18 ductile iron. These castings have been produced for many years and have proven to be very reliable and useful. This tool is offered with a 3/4" - 1" and 1 1/4" hardy post. All our tools are new and in very good condition. Casting weighs approx. 3 lbs. Made in the USA!

Iron Mountain Bottom Swage Hardy

Artistic. Artist Blacksmiths sometimes require a tool that will allow metal to be formed in ways that an anvil or traditional industrial swage block will not allow, a special Artists' block is then often used.  This tool is designed for flexibility. In addition, individual blocks may contain unique features of specific use or relevance to a particular smith or branch of the blacksmiths craft. This tool is approx. 4" high including the hardy post and 2 3/8" long and 1 1/2" across the forming surface. This tool is used by many different craftsmen in lots of different trades to form and swage materials. This tool can be used with a top set or ball pien hammers to bend draw and tenon materials. This tool can also be used for any other free forming you may come up with. The tool is made of tough 60/45/18 ductile iron.  These castings have been produced for many years and have proven to be very reliable and useful. The Dog Bone swage is 4 1/2"  long and 2" wide and approx. 3/4" deep. This is a very useful tool. The swage is made of tough 60/45/12 ductile iron.  The swage is available with a 3/4" 7/8” 1” and 1 1/4” hardy post to use in your anvil, vise or stake plate. The swage is used by Blacksmiths and Tinsmiths to form rose petals, ladle ends, candle cups, and to turn leaves etc. These swages have been produced for many years and have proven to be very reliable and useful.  All tools are new and in very good condition. Iron Mountain Radius Block Hardy

SAVE THE EDGE OF YOUR ANVIL FACE! 

This tool is approx.4" high including the hardy post and 2" square  across the forming surface. This tool is used by many different craftsman in lots of different trades to form and swage materials. The block is used for necking a specific radius on your project to save the edges of the anvil. The block has 4 sides with increasing radius from sharp to 3/8". This tool can be used with a top set or ball pien hammers to bend draw and tenon materials and any other free forming you may come up with. Iron Mountain Deep Ladle Swage Block Vise Tool

Are you making Armor, candle cups, kitchen ladles/skimmers, or flowers etc? This is the tool for the job. Artist Blacksmiths sometimes require a tool that will allow metal to be formed in ways that an anvil or traditional industrial swage block will not allow. We developed swage blocks that are individual and easy to handle that can be held in a vise. No more searching for the heavy expensive swage blocks, or having to manhandle the one. This ladle swage is 3 1/2"  in diameter and approx. 1 1/2" deep. The wide rim was designed to fold the rim of the part being produced to invert the apart and make courting candle bases. Don't be confused by the size because it will form much larger pieces by just moving the project from side to side. You can form half rounds and make a ball. The swage is made of tough 60/45/15 ductile iron.  The swage has a 3/4'' wide bar on the back side so that can be used in a vise. The swage is used by Blacksmiths and Tinsmiths to form shallow bowls, ladles, candle cups, etc. Our swages have been produced for many years and  have proven to be very reliable and useful.
